Prison Personnel
Often called detention officers, guards are people who are responsible for the supervision and assurance of safety of the prisoners of whom they are in charge. Historically called "jailers", they have custody of individuals who have been arrested and are awaiting trial, or those who have already been convicted of a crime and sentenced to serve time in jail or prison.
